Job description

At AMF Bakery Systems we design and build highly automated bakery production lines used worldwide. These lines combine machines from multiple AMF factories and OEM partners into one integrated system.

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you ensure that all machines in a project operate together as one stable, reliable and high-performing production line. You connect mechanical, electrical and software disciplines and make sure the full system behaves exactly as designed.

Your work directly impacts project success, commissioning, system performance and customer satisfaction.

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,500.00 and €6,000.00 based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on your knowledge and experience

  • Travel allowance (€0.23 per km)

Responsibilities of Systems Integration Engineer:

Systems integration

  • Define integration specifications for complete production lines

  • Design and optimize interfaces between machines and modules (conveyors, ovens, proofers, robots, tooling)

  • Create and maintain system integration documentation

Testing & commissioning

  • Prepare and support FAT and SAT testing (I/O checks, functional tests, safety tests)

  • Support commissioning of full systems at international customer sites

  • Coordinate with Controls Engineers on PLC logic, HMI and process flow

Troubleshooting & optimization

  • Analyze and resolve integration issues across mechanical, electrical and software systems

  • Improve performance, reliability and stability of production lines

Machine safety

  • Ensure systems meet CE and machine safety standards

  • Contribute to risk assessments, safety concepts and validation

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Automation

  • 5+ years experience in machine building or system integration

  • Experience with complex machine lines (food industry is a plus)

  • Knowledge of PLC/controls (e.g. Siemens TIA Portal or Allen-Bradley)

  • Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and I/O checks

  • Understanding of CE directives and machine safety

You also bring a hands-on mindset, strong analytical skills and the ability to connect multiple technical disciplines. International travel for commissioning is part of the role.
